I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
